Nepal Yoga-Treks

Nepal Yoga-Treks *
How it all began…
I did an introductory trek in Nepal in 2018. I instantly fell in love with the landscape, the mountain people and their culture - and outdoor yoga! The following year I returned and we tackled the 18-day Manaslu Tsum trail. We stayed in lodges in small villages and I did daily yoga en route, often joined by my fellow travellers, our guides and our porters. What a discovery that was - the recuperative, regenerative power of yoga to support the trekking and the impact of the vast expansive landscape and that beautiful rarified air on the yoga.
After a Covid-related pause we returned in autumn 2022 for my third trek: 15 days travelling, trekking and practising yoga in the dramatic Himalayan region of Langtang in Nepal, close to the border with Tibet. We combined the Helambu, Gosainkunde and Langtang treks for an amazingly varied adventure in a gorgeous landscape.
It was becoming clear that this might appeal to others. Meeting and trekking with Tim Calder, trek leader extraordinaire and fluent Nepali-speaker, was instrumental in taking the idea forward. After much planning and excitement we launched our first ‘official’ Yoga-Trek in October 2023. This took us back to the beautiful Langtang Valley on a 12-day adventure, following the Langtang Khola river for the whole length of the trek to see it change from a roaring torrent into glacial ice. En route daily yoga sessions aligned perfectly with trekking, as we practised outdoors against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks.
2024 led us to the iconic Annapurna region. We flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara, then trekked for eight days through isolated mountain villages, experiencing the traditional way of life of the Gurung people of Nepal. Highlights were our two pre-dawn treks to viewpoints where we watched the rising sun gild the surrounding mountain tops.
Our 2025 yoga-trek took us to Rolwaling, a sacred Himalayan valley close to the border with Tibet. The sparsely populated region is predominantly Buddhist and we passed numerous monasteries and manis (prayer walls) en route. Morning and evening yoga sessions against the towering backdrop of snow-capped peaks completed this truly epic experience.
Plans are already afoot for 2026. Get in touch if you’d like to be part of the adventure.
'I cannot begin to thank you enough for our amazing trip to Nepal. The combination of yoga and trekking was a match made in heaven. We have returned feeling uplifted, stronger and inspired.'
